About TForm:
TForm are a small organisation, originating from the Isle of Anglesey in North Wales, UK. Our initial project was started by two founding members who wanted to be able to offer support and advice to other transgender
individuals, their friends and family, just as they had received themselves when they started to transition.
On the 27th of March 2010, TForm sprung into action online.
The initial idea was that our community would fill a need we had identified in our immediate area, which was that of online support. There were and still are other support groups in the area, but they didn't fully offer what we could, which would be an online community, anonymity, and the ability to discuss privately any issues and problems they faced while navigating the sometimes treacherous road to transition or dressing from the safety of their own homes.
One we started to develop our online presence and make contact with people, it became evident that there was a need for an online community and a group of friends people could rely on for support, whether they had met in real life or not. TForm prides itself in being able to provide a safe environment for people to chat and gain support and experience from one another, safe from the advance of admirers, sexually or otherwise.
Our support system relies on input from everyone on site. We describe this as a Big Brother/Sister support system, which is very effective. It allows for the collective knowledge of the group to be focussed in a positive fashion to those who need it onsite.
TForm cater for everyone when it comes to issues regarding anything within the transgender spectrum. We have facilities to discuss issues with trans individuals, their friends and families and although we offer a comprehensive personal profile, users are able to register and use our forums as anonymous members if they feel they need to.
Since our inception, TForm have grown to cover a UK wide audience, as well as a number of overseas members. We have expanded to attend pride events, produce information leaflets, raise awareness through the media, engage with local authorities on equality legislation and service accessibility, engage with other large groups and of course to continue our work online as a mutual support community.
Please do register, TForm is entirely free of charge and we look forward to chatting with you!
